Separate Worlds

Once upon a time there lived a little girl, not a princess, nor a pauper, just a girl who lived in a realm, deep within a kingdom, a place described as dream-land but at times bordering a nightmare. The line between the two often blurred. Yet this was the only place known to her, and so the struggle begins.

The body, the form in which one exists, a face for the outside world, merely a means to function within "their" world. Walking through daily life, functioning, simply a way to keep up appearances for "them." Life is a stage.

Living in a duality of perception in her own lil' world, the happiest of moments emulated colors only she could see and fragrances only she could smell.

Learning to coexist, she lived between two worlds, separate to the other. Existing to exist, functioning to function; yet, when afforded the opportunity, she was often lost in her thoughts to any and everything around her.

As she grew older, she struggled to integrate the two with lil' success, as the constant pull of one kept the other in wait.

Older yet, society attempted to squash what was termed unrealistic expectations... A formidable opponent crashing into her realm.

Her duality of being both here and there, the lines often muddied.

Age took hold, and yet she continued to hold on to her faith.

She roamed aimlessly in hopes of being lost in her world to new people and new stories. Once a creative child, now a creative mind... Tip toeing in others wake. She walks, she runs, she speaks, she does... for all to witness.

Yet locked away in the caverns, still a little girl, in her world...
